National Council on Problem Gambling (United States)
Our responsible gaming initiatives began in the U.S. through a robust cooperative program with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in which the NCPG helpline number was made available at all of GCA’s U.S. cash access points. It also enabled customers of GCA’s call center to be instantly connected to their local NCPG hotline. In cooperation with the NCPG, GCA also provides casinos with responsible gaming materials through the “Think. Be Responsible.” campaign: a campaign that has since served as the model for many successful partnerships with other organizations worldwide.

Swiss Casino Federation GCA supports and financially sponsors all responsible gaming efforts of the Swiss Casino Federation (SCF) including their national hotline. In Switzerland, GCA also effectively directs problem gamblers to SCF’s in-casino support services.

The Resilience Centre Problem Gambling Prevention and Treatment Centre, MSAR Government Social Welfare Bureau (Macau) GCA is dedicated to the continued support of responsible gaming in Macau and displays the local counseling service’s hotline number on all GCA receipts. We also offer the same instant and anonymous connection to the local telephone hotline for any gaming patron contacting the GCA call center. All a patron has to do is pick up the handset and say “help” to be connected.
STEP (Self-Transaction Exclusion Program)

STEP (Self Transaction Exclusion Program) is an extension of GCA’s Responsible Gaming Partnership. This program gives patrons the option to exclude themselves at GCA’s cash advance and ATM network in nearly 1,000 gaming establishments within the United States.
When the required authorization forms are complete, access to cash through GCA’s network will be either denied or reactivated depending on the instructions given (reactivation requires a one-year waiting period).
To use STEP:
- Download the required Reject Card or Reactivate Card form.
- Print out appropriate form – Reject Card instructs GCA to reject cash advances, Reinstate Card instructs GCA to remove the rejection
